Prezi
I feel this most closely relates to ISTE NETS 2 Design and develop digital age learning assessments and experiences. You could use this in the classroom for teaching or have children create one themselves.
I did my Prezi on how to write an essay. I gave step by step instructions on how to do it. This would be helpful for children and adults of all ages. Everyone at some point in time through their educational experience has to write an essay. I hope this can be helpful to people in this class or other classes!

Jing Screencast
I chose to do my video on how to set up a blog. I feel that our blog is our most important piece of work in this class, so that is why I chose this topic!

Google Draw Tool
By going to Google Draw you can access an online drawing tool. This was my first experience with any online drawing tool. I have only used the Paint program that was included on my two computers. When I first looked at the example I was very intimidated. After I started the assignment it was much easier and more enjoyable than I thought it would be. It did take me a few hours to do it all though. I felt it was easy to upload pictures to my drawing, as well as, search for pictures.
The ISTE NETS T standard I feel this reflects is 2. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources. I feel you do "incorporate digital tools" by using Google Draw. I showed this in my drawing. I plan to use this program in my classroom one day. There are many different activities that you could involve in this.

Glogster
A glog is an online poster that can be interactive. You can add music, videos, pictures, etc. to it.
A glog is a very "catchy" piece of work. You can get students attention with a glog. If you are teaching on a topic making it into a glog would get the students more interested in the topic. You could also have the students make a glog. By them making a glog they could get many benefits out of it! A glog falls into the ISTE NETS T category: Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity. By using glogster students would be able to be very creative in their own way to express a topic of interest. The only problem I ran into with using glogster was I had almost completed it and it would not allow be to move some of the things that were piled on top of one another. I had to start all over, lucky though it had saved my video and I was able to use it again!
This NETS is 5a Participate in local and global communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.

The NETS T this follows I believe is Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity. This is all around a fun project to do. Students have the permission to be creative about a project and have fun while doing so.

VARK
Visual: 6
Aural: 11
Read/Write: 9
Kinesthetic: 5
I feel that my results are accurate because depending on the situation I am in I use different methods to learn things. Aural, my highest score, has to do the most with listening and that is the way that I learn the best. If I have missed classes in the past it really hurts me. I enjoy being in class and learn so much more by doing so. My second highest score, Read/Write, is what I fall to secondly if I am unable to be in a classroom setting. I rely on reading things and writing down information to obtain the answers that I need.
I feel this questionnaire will help being a teacher because it makes you aware that all people learn differently. As a teacher, I will try to bring all learning styles into my classroom for the benefit of each child!

Voice Thread
My experience with Voice Thread was only used during this assignment. I have never used it for anything before and was very unsure of what to expect. I found it to be quite a simple tool to use. I hope to one day use it more often with school related projects, whether I am the student or teacher. I recorded my voice thread twice just to make sure that I was doing it correctly. It was a simple as hooking up the mic and hitting the record button.
If anyone would like to listen to my voicetheard!

Google Reader
Tween Teacher
What intrigued me about this blog was when it stated, "This blog is meant to help new educators to the profession, veterans, and second career teachers navigate through this difficult yet rewarding career." I like the fact that there is a Teacher section as well as a Parent section. I feel that this will be helpful to me in both areas. I will be a teacher in the next two years and also have a child starting school. Heather Wolpert-Gawron, the woman that writes this blog, lists many sites for helpful teaching in areas of using the Internet. I am looking forward to reading her blogs on a daily basis and gathering information to take into my classroom one day.
Two Writing Teachers
Ruth Ayers and Stacey Orbitz write this blog together and live over five hundred miles apart. They show different and new technology's that can be used in a classroom. One thing I really like is a way to share your own writings; "practice what you preach." They focus more on writing and English subjects. I am considering getting my masters in reading so I feel this site will be very beneficial. They also give links to books that you can use in a classroom.
I can not believe it but I am very excited to read these blogs regularly. I am very much intrigued by this class and can not wait to see the other possibilities that await me and my future classroom!

Idealist
According to the idealist theory, I am giving, trustworthy, and spiritual. I agree with these three. I am always trying to give myself, even more so than I probably should. I tend to spread myself thin at times, trying to help others to often. I strongly agree with the statement saying that I "prize meaningful relationships." I am friendly to most, but I hold the people close to me very dearly. I have been hurt in the past so I tend to be somewhat reserved until I get to know someone. I will talk to anyone, and know no strangers, I just do not pour my heart out to people that I do not know that well.
It also says that I am a nurturing parent, I hope and pray to God that this is correct. I try to be the best mother to the best of my ability. I feel that I am very nurturing to my children, some may even say too nurturing. That is why they always cry for me. But, they are my babies and I plan to eat up being wanted 24/7 while it lasts. I am sure one day (teenage years in particular) I will be the last person they want.
Intense mate; that is one I would disagree with, but I am sure he would agree with. I know that I can be quite intense at times, but it is only for the good. I am right when it comes to our relationship, and he is wrong. (haha) But, seriously that is something that I need to work on. I get too hot headed at times, and let my thoughts over ride the facts.
I start to many projects at once and usually something suffers from it. I try to be the best and by doing so I create to many things that need to be accomplished.
Well, it's official, I agree with this personality type more. I AM AN IDEALIST!
I feel that this personality test will help me in the classroom. It pointed out some faults that I have that I need to work on that would be very beneficial in the classroom. I need to stay more focused on completing one project before starting to many. It will definitely help working with teachers and principals. Hopefully, when that time comes I will be better able to say no when my plate is already full. Instead of having an overflowing plate and constantly trying to complete a million tasks at once. I am grateful that I have taken this test and can see it helping me in different areas in the future!
The Guardian
I tend to be cautious more often than not. I try to stop and think about things before jumping in with both feet. I am by no means a saint. I make mistakes, but I try to learn from each mistake that I have made.
I trust authority and try to respect my elders to the best of my ability. I was raised with old fashioned values, I quite frequently say yes mam and yes sir. I am trying to instill these values in my children. I will be the first to say that I have many faults and am by no means a Mother Teresa. I try to be a good person, daughter, mate, sister, mother, student, and one day teacher.
I have never taken a personality test and am quite anxious to see my results. I could be totally off on the type of person that I feel that I am. I hope that I am somewhat correct on my assumptions of myself, but stay tuned and we shall see.

Browser Wars
Mozilla Firefox has stolen my heart and the devotion that I once had instilled solely for Internet Explorer. I am dumbfounded by Mozilla Firefox, I can not believe the speed behind it. The web browsing is so much quicker, it is customizable, there are add ons to make the page look better and get to things easier and quicker, it has an easy to use interface, it is more secure, & it is very user friendly (what other web browser says oops this is embarrassing when it can't load something?) I am now proud to say that I am a devoted Mozilla Firefox user!
A web browser "sorts" things for you on the World Wide Web. It can show you web pages, pictures, videos, or other content. I could not imagine life without web browsers. I will be the first to admit the World Wide Web would be useless to me without web browser's. I would not know how to look up anything; school work, Facebook, music. The list can go on and on. Well, I guess I could look up school work in dictionary's and in encyclopedia's, but who does that anymore. Web browser's have changed our way of living, our way of life, our way of thinking!
The current 4 top web browser's are Firefox (46.4%), Internet Explorer 8 (16.2%), Chrome (13.6%), & Internet Explorer 7 (9.3%). Even if you combine Internet Explorer 7 & 8 you only get 29.8%. Firefox is by far the "master" of web browsing.
Browser Wars refers to when web browsers are competing to be the top dog of web browsing. Firefox and IE are the two that are at more of a war than any other two because they are the ones that are in competition for first place. Here is a link to an article that I found to be rather interesting. Here is a link that I found rather interesting. I agree with this article. Innovation is what drives competition. All web browsers are striving to be the best, faster, quicker, coming up with different ideas first, being the most secure.
With being the number one web browser comes power. They are able to pull the trump card. Firefox right now is the top dog of web browsing. They are able to receive more funds for ads that are displayed on their browser, because more people are seeing the ads. Just like with anything else in life what ever you are behind or what ever it is you stand for you strive for it to be the best. The developers of web browser's are no different. They want the money and power that comes with being #1!

The story of my life...
I started college in the Spring semester of 2002, unsure of what I really wanted to do with my life. I decided to take some time off. We ended up having our little girl and I decided it was time to take college seriously and obtain my degree. I applied for the Respiratory Therapy program and was accepted. Once I had our son, I had a change of heart. I decided that Education is where my heart was and that I should be majoring in what makes me happy, not what I can make more money in. So I am in now a Junior majoring in Elementary Education and couldn't be happier!
I spend all of my free time with my children! They complete me and make me whole and I thank the Lord everyday that I have them!
